Keep Your Hands Out of Your Tank

As the title suggests - keep your hands out of the tank. Pretty simple idea (in theory) but in reality it's human nature to keep fussing with things. And with "Reefing" there are hundreds of things to fuss with.

.

From testing a variety of parameters, to adjusting flow rates to adjusting lighting... And if you have a controller, then the adjustments are literally limitless.

For me keeping my hands out of the tank is one of the hardest lessons to learn. We all want awesome reefs. We shop for rock that looks and fits into our scheme. We shop fish, corals and inverts that fits our plan. We shop equipment that makes reefing keeping fun and low maintenance. BUT... we're dealing with nature and nature doesn't always cooperate with what we want it to look and/or behave like. Again it's human nature to want things to happen right away. We like instant gratification or results from our endeavors but mother nature has her own timeline which normally doesn't coincide with our plans.

You'll find as I have, let nature take it's course. Sometimes that's very hard but once you've come to terms with that you'll enjoy reefing alot more.
